Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is finally upon us. The highly-anticipated sequel to the 2007 blockbuster, Transformers, hits theaters on Wednesday, and I can't fucking wait!I've been looking forward to this flick for months now so, needless to say, I'm pretty damn excited that we're only a few short hours away. I'm so excited, in fact, that I'm skipping work tomorrow to catch the movie tonight at midnight. (Shhh ... I told them I had to go out of town.)
Admittedly, this is a huge change from my attitude toward the first film before its release. I thought for sure that it was going to be a big bowl of suck and didn't even bother seeing it until it had been in theaters for a few weeks. Boy, was I wrong.
But, that's enough about the films. Instead, we're here to celebrate tomorrow's release date by continuing a tradition that was set forth by "Babes of Watchmen." That's right, my friends. I proudly bring to you "Babes of Transformers 2."
Megan Fox. Hollywood sex symbol Megan Fox will be returning as Mikaela Banes, the role that unarguably made her a star and definitely elevated her to said "sex symbol" status. Mikaela, for those of you who might've missed the first flick, is the hot-ass chick who eventually becomes the girlfriend of slightly-geeky Sam Witwicky. I guess going through a huge battle between shape-shifting robots from another world will bring people together like that.
Since the first Transformers film, Megan has spent very little time away from the spotlight. She's been named one of the sexiest people in the world by various publications and, on more than one occasion, has made headlines with her comments regarding her bisexuality and past drug use. She's even been branded by some as the next Angelina Jolie, a distinction which she'd rather avoid.
She's also set to co-star opposite Josh Brolin in the film adaptation of DC Comics' Jonah Hex, due out next year. Oh, and most importantly, she became my wife. Somebody should probably tell her that, though.
Isabel Lucas. A character named Alice will be introduced in this new flick and will be played by Australian actress Isabel Lucas. From what I've read, Alice is a co-ed hottie who Sam befriends when he goes off to college. Do I smell a possible cat-fight over Sam's affection?
I'll be honest, I don't know much about Isabel Lucas. Hell, I know nothing about her. My guess is since the character of Maggie Madsen, played by Rachael Taylor, didn't return for the sequel, they needed some extra eye-candy to go along with Megan and, from what I've seen, this chick fits that "eye-candy" mold very nicely.
Hopefully we'll be seeing more of her after Transformers 2 becomes a mega-hit and launches her into superstardom. And, if she plays her cards right, me and Megan might even let her join us in ... umm ... gaining some XBox 360 Achievements.
There you have it. If seeing giant robots battling it out in a fight to the death wasn't a good enough reason to go see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, you now have two more reasons. If you're still not convinced, what the fuck is wrong with you?
